De Pree Gallery to Feature Annual Senior Art Exhibition

The De Pree Art Center and Gallery at will feature “Not to Get Political…,” presenting work by graduating studio-art and art-history majors, in the college’s annual Senior Art Exhibition from Friday, April 11, through Friday, May 2.

Students to Present Creative and Research Projects on April 11

Original research by Hope students on topics ranging from the foraging efficiency of sparrows, to the effect of high-tempo music on sprint swimming, to anti-immigrant violence in the United Kingdom, to Don Quixote and social media will be highlighted during the college’s annual A. Paul and Carol C. Schaap Celebration of Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity on Friday, April 11, from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Richard and Helen DeVos Fieldhouse.

Theatre to Present “Sense and Sensibility”

The Department of Theatre will present Kate Hamill’s “Sense and Sensibility” on Friday-Saturday, April 4-5, and Thursday-Saturday, April 10-12, at 7:30 p.m., along with a free 2 p.m. matinee on Sunday, April 6. All performances will be in the DeWitt Center main theatre.

Lark, Roman, Meyer Trio to Perform on March 27

Three incredible musicians, including seven-time Grammy winner bassist Edgar Meyer, will combine for an evening of classical and contemporary music through the Great Performance Series at on Thursday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m. in the Concert Hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts.

Screening the Documentary Film “T-Rex” on March 26

The documentary film “T-Rex,” which is about Claressa "T-Rex" Shields from Flint, who at age 17 became the first woman in history to win the gold medal in the 2012 Olympic boxing, will be shown at on Wednesday, March 26, at 6:30 p.m. in the Knickerbocker Theatre.

The Exodus 90 program was introduced on the campus in 2018 through the Saint Benedict Institute, a ministry of St. Francis de Sales Parish that serves Catholic students at Hope and encourages all Christians to live out their faith.

Orchestra Chosen to Perform in Carnegie Hall in April

The Orchestra is one of only three ensembles, and one of only two from the United States, chosen to perform in the culminating Evening Showcase Concert in Carnegie Hall during the 19th annual New York International Music Festival running Saturday–Wednesday, April 5-9.
