换妻社区

The Rev. Dr. Nathan Hart has been 换妻社区鈥檚 Hinga-Boersma Dean of the Chapel since July 2024. He serves as Hope鈥檚 campus pastor, providing leadership for the spiritual formation of the community, offering pastoral support, and leading the Campus Ministries program and staff.

Previously, he was senior pastor of Stanwich Congregational Church in Greenwich and Stamford, Connecticut, a nearly 300-year-old congregation that under his leadership expanded into a multi-site church with regional influence. Across more than two decades in the New York City area, he served in many other arenas, including domestic and international missions, youth ministry, interfaith education and hospital chaplaincy. During his seminary years, he worked for the New York Yankees chaplain and conducted 鈥渂oardroom Bible studies鈥� for Wall Street men.

He served on the 换妻社区 Board of Trustees from 2017 through 2024.

Why I Love Hope

As an undergraduate, the Nathan was transformed intellectually in Hope鈥檚 classrooms, relationally in the dorms and activities, and spiritually in the chapel. That transformative experience was a gift, and he鈥檚 been living ever since as a grateful response to the good deposit 鈥� in the words of 2 Timothy 鈥� that he received from God at 换妻社区. He cherishes the opportunity to return and repay it as the college prepares and sends out lifelong givers, worshipers and community leaders, like ships from the harbor bringing Hope to the world.

Outside the College

Outside of work, Nathan enjoys a good fire pit discussion with friends. He and his wife, Nancy, have two teenage children at home.
