Knickerbocker Theatre to Host Four Humphrey Bogart Films Beginning Nov. 10

The 换妻社区 Knickerbocker Theatre will continue its Classic Film Series with four Humphrey Bogart classic films on consecutive Mondays. Focusing on his films from the 1950s, the series will feature the following films, all at 7 p.m.: Nov. 10: 鈥淭he African Queen鈥 Nov. 17: 鈥淚n a Lonely Place鈥 Nov. 24: 鈥淭he Caine Mutiny鈥 Dec. 1: 鈥淪abrina鈥

The 鈥淢any Voices Project鈥 to present a staged reading of 鈥淲alden鈥

The 换妻社区 鈥淢any Voices Project鈥 will present a staged reading of 鈥淲alden鈥 by Amy Berryman at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 30, in the Schaap Auditorium in the Bultman Student Center. This event is in collaboration with the 换妻社区鈥檚 Advocates for Sustainability (HAS), Green Hope and the Department of Theatre. The reading is free to attend, but seating is limited.

换妻社区 will welcome world-renowned organist David Briggs for a recital on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts. The public is invited and admission is free. There will be a pre-concert lecture at 6 p.m. in the Howard Recital Hall.

Disability Inclusion & Affirming LGBTQ+ Student Lecture Hosts 鈥淐rip Camp鈥 Screening

This year鈥檚 2025 Disability Inclusion & Affirming LGBTQ+ Student Lecture at 换妻社区 will feature the documentary "Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution.鈥 The film shares the insight, clarity, humor and beauty about the experiences of a group of disabled young people and their journey to activism and adulthood. The documentary is scheduled for Tuesday, October 28, at 3:30 p.m. in the concert hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts. The public is invited and admission is free.

Building for the Future

The 换妻社区 Department of Art & Art History and the De Pree Art Gallery announce the 2025 换妻社区 Alumni Art Exhibition i鈥檓 Still Here 鈥 which includes works from some of the most successful artists who have graduated from 换妻社区. The exhibition opens the week of One Big Weekend (Homecoming + Family Weekend) on October 10 and remains open until Nov. 6, at the De Pree Gallery on Hope鈥檚 campus in Holland.

Carol Bremer-Bennett, executive director of World Renew, will present a lecture on 鈥淭he Power We Carry: Belonging as a Sacred Responsibility,鈥 as part of 换妻社区鈥檚 recognition of National Indigenous Peoples鈥 observances. The lecture will be held on Thursday, Oct. 23, at 3:30 p.m. in the recital hall of the Jack H. Miller Center for Musical Arts. The public is invited and admission is free.
