Orientation team members represent nearly every student activity, athletic team and area of interest at Hope.
Orientation Directors

Orientation Director, Senior
Kolton is a senior studying pyschology and theater. On campus he is largely part of the theater department as a supervisor in the scene shop, scenic designer and actor. Outside of that, he is part of Hope Forward and does research for the psychology department. His favorite part of Orientation is meeting all the incoming students! Kolton’s favorite Hope tradition is The Pull. One thing Kolton wants you to know is, “Say yes to everything! Put yourself out there and don’t get stuck staying in your dorm!”

Haley is a senior studying secondary English education, with a minor in special education (learning disabilities endorsement). On campus, she is involved with Greek Life in the Alpha Gamma Phi sorority and she works for The Big Read. Her favorite part of Orientation is Playfair. Haley’s favorite campus tradition is Brinner, and she would like to encourage incoming students to live in the moment and remember the little things!

Assistant Director, Junior
Praise is a junior studying education policy, which includes political science, sociology, education, and a minor in peace & justice. She is involved in Student Congress, the Hope Forward leadership team, Met By Love Worship, Pan African Student Association, Center for Leadership, and Admissions. Praise’s favorite part of Orientation is Playfair. Her favorite campus tradition is the Campus Ministries end-of-year picnic. Praise would like to encourage incoming students to just be yourself, because that's the best way to meet people and make friends.

Assistant Director, Junior
Anabelle is a junior with a major in theater and a minor in dance. On campus she is a part of Even Year Pull, Dance 52, Ballet Club, the theatre department, a Bible study, Genesis 90, and Orientation. Her favorite Orientation activity is Playfair, and her favorite campus tradition is The Pull. Her wisdom for incoming students is “It's going to be scary, challenging, and hard at first. You will face trials, open doors and closed ones that weren't for you, but eventually you will find who you truly are as a person, the people you want to surround yourself with, and see where life takes you.”

Liam is a junior studying biology and has a minor in psychology. He is involved with the Pre-Health Professionals Club, Intramural Sports (his favorite is flag football), a Bible study, and is a PPL leader. He also attends chapel three times a week. His favorite Orientation activity is Playfair! His wisdom for incoming students is: “Put yourself out there! Everyone wants to make new friends as a new student!”

Leah is a junior studying elementary education with a studio art minor. She is a part of Sigma Sigma Sorority, Hope Forward, SAC, Hope Democrats, and is a Public Affairs and Marketing intern and a CASA teacher. Her favorite Orientation activity is Playfair! Her favorite campus tradition is Brinner before Christmas break. She would like to tell incoming students to be yourself and you will find the most amazing people that will love you for who you are!

Serafina is a junior and is studying psychology. On campus she is involved with Greek Life as a member of Sigma Sigma, The Pull, Nykerk, Dance Marathon, and leads a Wyldlife group. Her favorite part of Orientation is the icebreakers. Her favorite campus tradition is Brinner, and she encourages incoming students to join everything!

Assistant Director, Sophomore
Sabrina is a sophomore with a creative writing major and a double minor in leadership and music. She is a cellist in the »»ÆÞÉçÇø Orchestra, a sailor with the Hope Sailing Team, and vice president of the Creative Writing Club. Her favorite Orientation activity is the Involvement Fair! She would like to tell incoming students that what you put in is what you get out of it.

Ella is a junior and is studying psychology and music. She is a part of Chapel Choir, TEDX»»ÆÞÉçÇø, the prayer team, Ski Club, Step Up/CASA and SAC. Her favorite Orientation activity is Playfair! Something on her Hope bucket list is to go on an Outdoor Adventure Club trip or an Immersion trip. She would like to tell incoming students that the hardest things will always be worth it, put in the work and you'll see the result.

Daniel is a junior with a major in mathematics and a minor in psychology. He is a part of the Pan-Indigenous Student Organization, the Culture and Inclusion Committee, and Student Congress, and he works at the Kletz. His favorite Orientation activity is Play Fair! Daniel’s favorite campus tradition is The Pull. His Hope bucket list includes making friends with a squirrel. He would like to tell incoming students that nobody knows what you’ll say next so make your words something meaningful to yourself.

Olivia is a senior studying sociology with a criminal justice emphasis. She was a part of the Washington Honors Semester, and her favorite part of Orientation is move-in day! The wisdom she would like to pass on to incoming Hope students is that change is normal.

Elly is a senior studying classical studies with a double minor in history and business. She is involved in Even Year Pull, the SAC media team, TEDx, study abroad (in Greece), and she works at the Kletz and concessions. As an OA she loved making door decs for her incoming students, and her favorite part of Orientation beside that is Playfair! Her favorite campus tradition is The Pull, which she participated in as both a puller and a moraler for Even Year.

Bridget is a senior studying vocal music education and has a minor in theater. On campus, she is involved in Chapel Choir, theatre productions, Tap Club, Dance X, and a Bible study. Her favorite part of Orientation is Playfair! Her favorite campus tradition is Vespers.

Sarah is a senior with a major in psychology and a double minor in sports studies and sociology. She is involved with Yoga Club, Dance Marathon and Hope Advocates for Invisible Conditions. Her favorite part of Orientation is going to Peach Wave with the transfer students! Her favorite campus tradition is the lighting of the Christmas Tree. Her Hope bucket list includes jumping off of the high dive. She would like to encourage incoming students to say “yes.”

Paige is a junior and has a double major in English and religion, as well as a double minor in Spanish and professional writing. She is involved in SPERA, Campus Ministries Bible studies and the Anchor. She was also involved in the Phelps Scholars Program her freshman and sophomore years. Paige’s favorite part of Orientation is the Summer Soiree! Her advice to incoming students is “Don't be afraid to get involved at your own pace. It takes a minute to adjust, so don't force yourself to join every club as soon as you get on campus. Find what you like to do rather than do what everyone back home would expect you to be part of as soon as you arrive.”

Ella is a junior with a nursing major and a math minor. On campus, she is a part of Intramural sports, Genesis 90, the Nursing Program and Practicing the Way. She is also a Bible study leader. Her favorite part of Orientation is getting to talk to so many people at Playfair! Her favorite campus tradition is Groovin' in the Grove.

Anna is a senior studying political science. As well as Orientation, Anna is also a part of Ski Club and Dance Marathon. Her favorite part of Orientation is Move-in Day! Anna’s favorite campus tradition is Brinner.

Assistant Director, Junior
Laurel is a junior studying secondary math education, and has a minor in theater. On campus she is involved in Nykerk, The Pull, Bible Pride, Creative Writing Club and Irish Dance Club. Her favorite Orientation activity is Playfair! Laurel’s favorite campus tradition is The Pull, and says that there’s nothing quite like it, and even if you don’t participate you should absolutely watch it!

Jacqueline is a senior with a double major in English and theater and a minor in psychology. On campus, Jacqueline is a STEP educator, the social media manager for Hope theater and Hope Rep, an actor and a stage manager in Hope theater productions, and does psychology research. She has also been a member of the Chapel Choir and has worked for the Anchor. She loves writing and creating in a community. Jacqueline’s favorite Orientation activity is Summer Soiree! Her favorite campus tradition is The Pull.

Cadence is a senior studying elementary education. On campus, she is involved with the Alethean sorority and is a part of club tennis. Her favorite Orientation events are Playfair and move-in. Her advice for incoming students is to step out of your comfort zone and go for what you want. Nothing is going to happen if you just sit back and watch.

Natalie is a senior and is studying biology and Spanish. She is the president of Club Animalia, and is also involved with the Volunteer Services Committee, Ronald Lab, Ski and Snowboard Club, Yoga Club, Biology Club and Intramurals. She also works at the animal museum. Her favorite part of Orientation is Playfair! She would like to encourage new students to go where life takes you, and remember that God always has a plan.

Anya is a senior studying social work and peace & justice. She is involved in Sacred Dance, Ballet Club, Ski Club, Outdoor Adventure Club, the Theatre/Dance Costume Shop, and student-led Sociology & Social Work Organization. Her favorite part of Orientation is the OA and AD Lip Sync Contest. Her favorite campus tradition is going trick-or-treating at President Scogin's house.

Bella is a junior. She has a double major in Business and Art History and a minor in Leadership. On campus, she is a Tour Guide, and is involved in Business Club, Outdoor Adventure Club, and Pickle Ball Club. She’s also done a May Term Study Abroad. Bella’s favorite part of Orientation is Playfair! She would like to tell incoming students “Take advantage of everything Hope has to offer! Even if you're unsure, try different activities, join clubs, and go to sports games-- experiencing our vibrant campus made all the difference in my freshman year.”
