Academic Improvement and Resilience (AIR)

The AIR program is designed to provide additional support to students on academic probation. We partner with students to create a plan for resiliency, belonging and academic improvement.

The AIR program is led by a team of academic coaches who support students in small groups, seminar sessions and individual appointments. Coaches will connect with students through a variety of ongoing touchpoints during the semester depending on the student's needs and probation status.

How We Can Help
  • Practice academic skills and habits
  • Encourage advocacy skills
  • Cultivate a community and sense of belonging
  • Bridge the gap between student and college resources
Who Can Participate
  • Students on academic probation are required to participate in this program
  • Any other student interested in this program should contact our department
What Can You Expect

Once you鈥檝e been placed on academic probation, you will receive an email from Student Support & Retention that discusses your options (that could include regular meetings with a coach, resource referrals and/or a seminar). We will help you identify your goals, needs and barriers that kept your previous semester from being academically successful. Then, we will create a plan for the upcoming semester that usually includes regularly scheduled meetings (one-on-one or group) and resource referrals.
